Little Bighorn Battlefield

Today we stopped at the Little Bighorn Battlefield Monument. For once our National Parks Pass actually gets us into something!

My knowledge of the history of this place is rather slim. The official tour is rather long and we just missed one so we decided to just look around ourselves.
The battle took place here on the prairie but there isn't really anything to see bug grave sites.

A caravan of cool cars is here they each have a big red number on the side of the car. I wonder how far they are driving as some of them are real old classic cars.
A VW Bug probably the most interesting tow'd vehicle we've seen. It should at least be the convertible model.
I am not sure why these graves were all arranged nicely instead of where the people had fallen,.
Tri-color Chihuahuas what good travelling companioins
This passes for a souvenir in the plains!
Metal statue display in a monument to the fallen indians from the battle.
Cute little town of Deadwood which looks all old-ish but is all modern casinos and restaurants.

Well this was mostly a drive day to the Black Hill's of South Dakota but we did see a lot of good stuff along the way.  We are staying here for a few days which will be nice after travelling so far in the last few days.
